Lukashenko proposes goods shipped across Baltic Sea be escorted by warships if West threatens to seize them
MINSK. March 14 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has proposed that freights transported across the Baltic Sea be escorted by warships if the West threatens to seize them.
Russian President Vladimir "Putin and I also discussed those intimidations that they seize those freights in the Baltic Sea. I said, well, Vladimir, this leaves us the only choice: let's provide them with warship escort," Lukashenko said in his remarks at the Russian Federation Council on Friday.
Lukashenko described Belarusian-Russian integration as a unique format helping the two countries ensure their security and manifest resilience amid sanctions.
