Ukraine's exports drop 7.35%, imports up 13% in Jan-Feb 2025
MOSCOW. March 11 (Interfax) - Exports of goods from Ukraine declined 7.35% year-on-year to $6.3 billion in January-February 2025, while imports grew from $10 billion to $11.3 billion in the reporting period, Ukrainian media cited the State Customs Service as saying in a statement.
"Dutiable imports totaled $8.6 billion, which is 76% of the total imports of goods. The tax burden per kilogram of imports subject to taxes was $0.49 for one kilogram in January-February 2025," the service said.
In the first two months of the year, the largest exporters of goods to Ukraine were China ($2.6 billion), Poland ($1 billion) and Germany ($841 million), it said.
The main markets for Ukrainian goods in January-February 2025 were Poland ($714 million), Spain ($464 million) and Italy ($449 million).
Categories of goods accounting for 67% of all of Ukraine's imports in January-February 2025 were machinery, equipment and vehicles totaling $4.3 billion (UAH 26.3 billion, or 27% of all customs duties paid to the budget), chemical products for $2 billion (UAH 15.8 billion, or 16%), as well as fuel and energy products for $1.4 billion (UAH 26.8 billion, or 28%).
The top three Ukrainian exports in the first two months of 2025 were foodstuffs ($3.7 billion), metals and metal products ($624 million), and machinery, equipment and vehicles ($568 million).
A total of UAH 41.2 million was paid to the budget as export duties in January-February 2025.
