Ukrainian State Border Guard Service provides border-crossing statistics
MOSCOW. March 10 (Interfax) - Passenger traffic across the Ukrainian border grew 1.1% on the first week on spring, March 1-7, versus the previous week and reached 440,000 owing to an increased number of arrivals.
The number of departures decreased from 225,000 to 222,000, whereas the number of arrivals grew from 210,000 to 218,000, Ukrainian media said, citing the State Border Guard Service.
The number of vehicles crossing the border remained unchanged, 117,000, while the number of humanitarian trucks increased from 553 to 621.
The January inflation report of the National Bank of Ukraine estimated departures from Ukraine at 0.5 million in 2024 (0.315 million, according to the State Border Guard Service. In absolute terms, the number of migrants staying abroad rose to 6.8 million in 2024. The National Bank estimates departures expected in 2025 at 0.2 million.
According to an update from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, there were 6.907 million Ukrainian refugees in the world, including 6.346 million in Europe, as of February 19, 2025, or 43,000 more than on January 16.
The latest UN update estimated the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine at 3.665 million.
