EU offering rare earths deal to Ukraine - European Commission
BRUSSELS. Feb 25 (Interfax) - The European Union is offering a mutually advantageous rare earths deal to Ukraine, Politico said, citing European Commission Executive Vice President Stephane Sejourne.
"Twenty-one of the 30 critical materials Europe needs can be provided by Ukraine in a win-win partnership," Sejourne said.
He said he had conveyed the offer to Ukrainian officials and added that the EU would never push for an agreement unless it was advantageous to both sides.
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he was hoping that Kiev and Washington would sign a rare earths deal shortly. He did not rule out that Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky might pay a visit this week in order to sign the agreement.
