Sixteenth package of EU's anti-Russian sanctions could include LNG - EU diplomacy chief
BRUSSELS. Jan 28 (Interfax) - The European Union is working on the 16th package of sanctions against Russia, which is to include a wide range of goods ranging from LNG to video game consoles, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas said.
"We are really looking into all types of things [...] to put them on sanctions list. Even elements like the consoles for video games, because apparently these are the ones they operate the drones with them [...], chemicals that are needed for the Russian military industry. There are a lot of items. Of course, LNG as well on this list," Kallas said in Brussels on Tuesday.
"What is the final agreement will be clear when we have agreed, but we are working for it to be ready in February," she said, adding that the process involves negotiations between the member states.
"We really need to keep up the economic pressure on Russia, while also giving military support to Ukraine," Kallas said.
