Putin, Pashinyan discuss deeper integration, primarily in energy sector - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Jan 17 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has initiated a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin press service said.

"In furtherance of a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council held in December 2024, certain current aspects of further deepening of integration, primarily in the energy sector, were discussed. Substantial practical benefits from the joint work done at the EAEU, including for the Armenian economy, were stated," the press service said.

Pashinyan explained the recent steps taken by Yerevan in the context of relations with the European Union. "The Russian leader made respective comments and assessments," the press service said.
