Russia, Vietnam set to increase bilateral trade to $15 bln by 2030 - Mishustin

HANOI. Jan 14 (Interfax) - Russia and Vietnam are set to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion by 2030 through implementing a comprehensive cooperation plan, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

"Today, my colleague and I have discussed the full list of bilateral affairs, signed a respective action plan for our relations in the period until 2030, confirmed 13 roadmaps, and said that we are set to increase bilateral trade to $15 billion by 2030," Mishustin said at a meeting with Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee Secretary General To Lam.

Mishustin came to Vietnam last night for an official visit and has taken part in the negotiations of Russian and Vietnamese delegations involving Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

He thanked To for the cordial welcome and attention to the Russian delegation and conveyed best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"Dear comrade Secretary General, we are looking forward to your visit for the celebrations of the victory in the Great Patriotic War," Mishustin said.

This is Mishustin's first visit to Vietnam as the Russian prime minister, To said for his part. Mishustin is also the first politician to visit Vietnam in 2025. "It's our tradition that the first guest is a very important guest that brings goodness and the very best for our country," he said.

He asked Mishustin to convey best wishes and New Year greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev.
