KBR, BP sign three-year EPCM contract for projects worldwide
BAKU. Jan 14 (Interfax) - U.S. engineering and construction services giant KBR and BP International Limited, a division of UK oil and gas major BP plc , have signed a three-year global agreement for engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services, KBR announced in a press release.
"Under the terms of the contract, KBR will provide EPCM for onshore, offshore, greenfield and brownfield conventional energy projects and new energy sector projects worldwide for three years, with an option to extend for two additional years. Additionally, KBR provides BP with market-leading licensed technology solutions [...]," KBR said.
"This global agreement with BP will involve multiple project teams collaborating from offices in Houston, Baku, India, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Singapore, Perth and London, leveraging KBR's proven ability to deliver complex projects anywhere in the world," the president of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, Jay Ibrahim said in the press release.
The two companies currently have a global agreement for engineering services, "under which KBR has played a key role in projects spanning the U.S., North Sea, Iraq, Africa and Azerbaijan," the release said.
"This additional global agreement expands the opportunity for EPCM services and demonstrates our successful partnership and support to BP's expanding portfolio," KBR said.
KBR, which employs about 37,000 people worldwide, works with customers in more than 80 countries and has operations in over 30 countries.
BP International Limited is engaged international in oil and related financial activities. It also provides services to other BP divisions, including treasury activities.
