Russian govt extends quota to export ferrous scrap metal for 2025 at 1.5 mln tonnes

MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - The Russian government has extended the tariff quota to export ferrous scrap and waste beyond the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) for January 1 to December 31, 2025, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers said.

The quota volume is 1.5 million tonnes.

The duty will be 5%, though not less than 15 euros per tonne, when exporting ferrous scrap and waste within the quota, and 5%, though not less than 290 euros per tonne, in excess of the amount.

The government's decision will provide domestic enterprises in the metals industry with strategic raw materials, the press service said.
