Turkmen president, Turkish trade minister discuss cooperation priorities
ASHGABAT. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Turkmenistan is ready to develop bilateral cooperation, boost trade, and consider specific proposals in a variety of areas of mutual interest, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting with Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat, who is visiting Ashgabat for an exhibition of Turkish export goods, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper said on Thursday.
The exhibition of Turkish export goods, held in Turkmenistan on a regular basis, is an important event promoting mutually advantageous cooperation, Berdimuhamedov said.
He called the bilateral trade and economic partnership important and said the sides should not only implement new technologies and scientific achievements in various sectors but also develop international cooperation for the sake of continuous economic modernization.
The exhibition of Turkish export goods will help raise the level of bilateral trade and economic relations and foster business contacts, he said.
Turkmenistan views Turkey as a fraternal state. Bilateral relations are long-term, strategic and based on mutual respect and support, as stated at the meeting between Berdimuhamedov and Bolat, the newspaper said.
Turkmen-Turkish relations are being successfully enhanced in a number of areas, including trade, energy, textile industry and construction.
Bolat conveyed greetings from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Turkmen leadership and said that Turkey ascribed a great significance to multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan, the newspaper said.
