Russian household expectations remain at 13.4% in Nov - survey for CBR
MOSCOW. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Household inflation expectations in Russia are 13.4% in November, as in October, according to a short survey by InFOM for the Central Bank.
Inflation observed by households is also unchanged at 15.3%.
This is the first time since tough sanctions were imposed against Russia that inflation expectations and observed inflation have remained unchanged from one month to another.
Household inflation expectations rose to 13.4% in October from 12.5% in September, the highest rise since December 2023. Inflation observed by households grew to 15.3%, from 14.4% in September.
InFOM conducted the latest survey from November 1-12.
Inflation expectations in November have fallen to 14.4% from 15% among respondents without savings, and to 11.8% from 12.1% among respondents with savings.
Observed inflation among respondents without savings has fallen to 16.3% from 16.6%, and among respondents with savings it has risen to 13.9% from 13.7%.
Inflation expectations are one of the key factors that the CBR takes into account when taking decisions on the key rate.
The Central Bank's next rate-setting meeting is on December 20.
