Indian PM, Russian first deputy PM discuss ways to bolster bilateral relations
DELHI. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov discussed steps to intensify economic and energy cooperation between the two countries at a meeting on Monday, the Indian authorities said.
"They exchanged views on enhancing cooperation in various areas, including trade and economic ties, energy, connectivity among others," Modi's Office said in a statement.
The Indian prime minister also welcomed the efforts being made to implement the decisions taken during his visits to Russia and talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. These decisions are intended to further strengthen the "India- Russia special and privileged strategic partnership," the statement said.
Manturov is paying a visit to India. The next meeting of the two countries' intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation is due to take place in Delhi on November 12. Manturov is the Russian co-chair of the commission.
