Ukraine to receive $1.37 bln in WB grant support within days - Finance Ministry

MOSCOW. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Ukraine will receive $1.37 billion in grant support under the World Bank's Public Expenditures for Administrative Capacity Endurance (PEACE in Ukraine) within the next few days to partially compensate for state budget expenditures, including social and humanitarian expenditure unrelated to the security and defense sector.

Ukrainian Finance Minister Sergei Marchenko and World Bank Country Director for Eastern Europe Bob Saum signed the grant agreement last Friday, Ukrainian media reported with reference to the Finance Ministry.

The funding includes a $1.35-billion grant from the United States and 10.8 million euros from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund for co-financing the Second Development Policy Loan for Economic Recovery for Ukraine, it said.

The Ukrainian Finance Ministry has attracted almost $28 billion and more than 1.4 billion euros in budget support through the PEACE in Ukraine project since the start of the crisis.

In cooperation with the World Bank, all payments are made based on monthly reports, separately for each category of employees and recipients of social state support, it said.
