Russia sees India as potential market for LNG from plant under construction in Ust-Luga - first deputy PM

MUMBAI. Nov 11 (Interfax) - Russia is interested in ramping up exports of liquefied natural gas to India, particularly from promising enterprises like the gas-processing complex under construction in the Leningrad Region, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov told reporters.

"We see prospects for expanding collaboration between Russia and India in the LNG sector. A gas-processing complex with capacity of up to 13 million tonnes of LNG per year is under construction in the Leningrad Region [in Ust-Luga]. Russian companies are interested in establishing long-term exports of LNG to India," Manturov said.

Gazprom and RusGazDobycha, which operates the RusChemAlliance joint venture, are implementing the project on a parity basis to construct a gas-processing and liquefaction plant near the Ust-Luga seaport.
