Deputy PM Novak allows for possibility of resuming exports of AI-92 gasoline from Russia if refinery overstocking confirmed

CHELYABINSK. Nov 8 (Interfax) - Russia's Energy Ministry will soon present a proposal on the possibility of lifting the ban on gasoline exports, though only AI-92 and only if domestic refineries are confirmed as being overstocked with AI-92, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters on the sidelines of the Russian Economic Forum.

"We have now received a proposal [to lift the ban on gasoline exports]. I have instructed the Energy Ministry to work on the matter and render the necessary proposal," Novak said.

Novak said that the relevant work should be completed "in the near future."

"This involves only AI-92 gasoline for the time being. The balance is currently being analyzed, and we will certainly have to reach a decision to allow exports so that enterprises do not reduce their production volumes if we are confirmed to have surplus stocks," Novak emphasized.
