Deputy PM Patrushev confirms forecast for Russia's grain harvest at 130 mln tonnes in 2024
MOSCOW. Nov 6 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev has confirmed the forecast for Russia's grain harvest at 130 million tonnes this year, as previously announced.
"Harvesting is going extremely difficult this year. However, we should still harvest 130 million tonnes of grain despite the force majeure circumstances, given developments in the sector, which guarantees food security and allows us to fulfill export goals," Patrushev said on Wednesday during a lecture at the Knowledge.First educational marathon.
Patrushev also confirmed the previously announced guidance for agricultural exports to rise to $55 billion by 2030, recalling that the Russian president has instructed the sector to ramp up exports 1.5-fold by 2030 compared to 2021.
As reported, the government in early October lowered the official forecast for harvesting grain to 130 million tonnes in 2024 from 132 million tonnes previously, and reduced the estimate for harvesting wheat to 83 million tonnes this year from 84 million tonnes previously.
