Belarus, Russia even out rates for railway shipments of construction aggregates
MINSK. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The Belarusian and Russian governments have decided to even out rates for railway shipments of construction aggregates.
The decision was made following a meeting of the Union State Council of Ministers in Minsk on Tuesday that was attended by Russian and Belarusian prime ministers Mikhail Mishustin and Roman Golovchenko, state news agency BelTA reported.
"A document was passed on evening out rate conditions for shipping construction aggregate freight by railway transport for Belarusian and Russian producers," the agency said.
Following the meeting the countries also prepared draft decrees of the Union State Supreme State Council on "certain measures to combat illegal imports of goods into the territory of the Union State" and on common rules for competition and protection of consumer rights.
The prime ministers also discussed granting the products of Belarusian and Russian manufacturers the status of a Union State good.
"Experts from both countries will have to work out criteria according to which such products can be classified as a Union State good, determine areas where it will be applied, work out the procedure for recognizing and assigning the status and decide a number of issues of an organizational and protocol nature. This is needed in order to finally resolve the issue of providing a national regime for all goods manufactured on the territory of the Union State," Golovchenko said after the meeting.
