SOCAR, Pakistan State Oil to sign agreement on supplying fuel, lubricants to Pakistan

BAKU. Nov 5 (Interfax) - Pakistan's Economic Coordination Committee of the cabinet of ministers has approved signing an agreement between Pakistan State Oil (PSO) and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) on supplying fuel and lubricants, the Pakistani government's press service said.

The committee reached the corresponding decision at a meeting chaired by Finance and Revenue Minister, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on November 4.

"The Petroleum Division of Pakistan's Ministry of Energy during the meeting submitted a summary requesting approval of the [draft of the] sale and purchase agreement between PSO and SOCAR on supplying fuel and lubricants. The committee approved signing the agreement," the press service said.

Details and volumes of supplies are not provided. SOCAR has not commented on the statement.

As reported, SOCAR is currently collaborating with Pakistan LNG Limited in Pakistan under a framework agreement on supplying liquefied natural gas to the country.
