U.S. imposes sanctions against Kazakh machinery supplier Kazstanex

ALMATY. Oct 31 (Interfax) - The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has included Kazakhstan's Kazstanex LLP in the sanctions list, according to the department's press release.

"Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury sanctioned 275 individuals and entities involved in supplying Russia with advanced technology and equipment," the press release says.

Kazstanex LLP is one of the participants in the scheme for purchasing machines from Europe, according to OFAC.

"Uzbekistan-based OOO Uzstanex (Uzstanex) and Kazakhstan-based Kazstanex operate as nominal recipients of the shipments of machine tools from Europe, before shipping them to PRC-based Shanghai Winsun Imp and Exp Co Ltd (Shanghai Winsun) to reach Russia," the press release reads.

Kazstanex LLP specializes in the supply of machines and industrial equipment.
