Western Union re-registers license in Tajikistan to new legal entity
DUSHANBE. Oct 23 (Interfax) - The National Bank of Tajikistan has issued a license to France-based Western Union Network to operate as a payment system operator, the Central Bank said.
This specifically involves re-registering the license owing to a change in the legal address of the recipient and in accordance with the laws "On payment services and the payment system", "On the permit system", and "On the National Bank of Tajikistan", respectively.
The corresponding information has been entered in the Registry of payment system operators and the Registry of permit documents, respectively, as part of issuing the license.
The National Bank in December last year revoked and cancelled the license of the Russian Western Union payment system, as issued to Western Union DP Vostok Non-banking Lending Organization LLC.
The Tajik regulator said that it revoked the license based on a written application from the payment system.
The revoked license was issued in February 2018, and was set to expire on February 26, 2026.
