EIA lowers Kazakhstan's liquid hydrocarbon production forecast for 2024-2025

ALMATY. Oct 9 (Interfax) - The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) has lowered its forecast for Kazakhstan's liquid hydrocarbon production in 2024-2025.

The agency said in its October forecast that liquids production in Kazakhstan would amount to 1.88 million barrels per day in 2024, compared with 1.92 million bpd in the September forecast.

The EIA said oil production in Kazakhstan in the first quarter of 2024 was 2 million bpd; in the second quarter it was 1.89 million bpd; and in the third quarter 1.86 million bpd. The fourth quarter forecast is 1.77 million bpd, down from 1.87 million bpd forecast in September.

Liquids production in 2025 is expected to reach 1.97 million bpd, down from the previous month's estimate of 2.01 million bpd. This includes 1.95 million bpd in the first quarter, down from 2.02 million bpd forecast in August; 1.96 million bpd in the second quarter, down from 2.03 million bpd; 1.95 million bpd in the third quarter, down from 2.07 million bpd; and 2.03 million bpd in the fourth quarter, up from 1.91 million bpd.

The EIA said Kazakhstan produced 1.96 million bpd of liquids in 2023.
