MOSCOW. Oct 7 (Interfax) - Ukraine and Slovakia have signed a memorandum on cooperation in agriculture and the food industry, Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Vitaly Koval said.

"Agriculture Minister of Slovakia Rochard Takac and I have signed a memorandum on cooperation in agriculture and the food industry. In particular, it deals with cooperation at the level of associations and farmers and the strengthening of direct horizontal ties between them," Ukrainian media outlets quoted Koval as saying in a statement on social media.

The parties also outlined plans for cooperation in cattle breeding, plant selection, the development of exports, as well as scientific studies in agriculture, he said.

"I invited the minister to join the support extended to our agricultural producers. It is about not only grant support, but also, for instance, the opening of joint Ukrainian-Slovak enterprises specializing in advanced processing," Koval said.
