Damate Group starts exporting turkey products to Georgia

MOSCOW. Sept 24 (Interfax) - Damate Group, a leading producer of turkey meat in Russia, has begun exporting turkey products to Georgia.

The company said that a trial consignment was shipped in September, with the main volume comprising advanced-refined turkey products produced at the company's plant in the Penza Region. These are more than 15 types of sausages, ham, and frankfurters under the Indilight brand. The volume of the first batch is not disclosed.

"The company plans to expand the range of supplies by introducing a wider range of products to the market," according to the press release. Deliveries are planned to be transferred to a monthly basis.

The company emphasizes that entering the Georgian market is an important step in developing Damate's export area. "Despite the fact that the Georgian food market is objectively considered developed, the niche for turkey meat products remains virtually unoccupied," according to the press release.

Damate has been exporting turkey products since 2015. The company currently has permits for deliveries to the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries and another 34 countries worldwide.

As reported, the group boosted exports of turkey meat, duck, and lamb products 21% year-on-year to 12,000 tonnes in the first half of the year.

Damate Group produces turkey meat, duck, and lamb, and develops dairy farming and genetic projects.
