Central Bank monetary policy dept director Tremasov to be adviser to CBR governor, Gangan to replace him
MOSCOW. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Andrei Gangan, the current first deputy governor of the Russian Central Bank's monetary policy department, will be the new director of the department as of October 2, the CBR said.
Kirill Tremasov, who has been director of the department since 2020, will be an advisor to Central Bank Governor Elvira Nabiullina.
"He [Tremasov] will continue to participate in preparing decisions on monetary policy. His main responsibility in the new position will be to strengthen interaction with Central Bank's main departments in the areas of regional analysis and communication within monetary policy," the CBR said.
Gangan joined the CBR in 2011, holding various positions related to developing and implementing monetary policy.
Tremasov replaced current Central Bank Deputy Governor Alexei Zabotkin as director of the monetary policy department in May 2020. Tremasov previously worked at Locko-Invest of the Locko-Bank Group. From 2014 to 2017, he was director of the macroeconomic forecasting department at the Economic Development Ministry.
