Armenian PM, French FM discuss development of bilateral cooperation

YEREVAN. Sept 16 (Interfax) - Armenia values France's support for its efforts to consolidate its sovereignty and independence, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said.

"Our strategy is the following: we want to strengthen our sovereignty, our independence, and our statehood, and we certainly very much value France's support in this," the Armenian government press service quoted Pashinyan as saying at a meeting with French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne in Yerevan.

Sejourne emphasized the importance of consistent development of security and economic cooperation between the two countries.

"France stands by Armenia and will continue to support the Armenian people," he said.

Pashinyan and Sejourne also discussed a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku and regional processes.
