Russia cut steel product output 10.8% in Aug, 3.9% in 8M - Chermet Corp
MOSCOW. Sept 10 (Interfax) - Russia cut steel product output 10.8% year-on-year to 5 million tonnes in August and 3.9% to 42.3 million tonnes in January-August, the Chermet Corporation said, quoting preliminary data.
Iron ore production fell 1.6% year-on-year to 8.3 million tonnes in August and 3.4% to 69.9 million tonnes in 8M.
Pig iron production fell 6.7% to 4.3 million rubles in August and 5.9% to 34.3 million in 8M. Steel pipe production fell 7% to 1.1 million tonnes and 3.1% to 8.5 million tonnes.
Crude steel output fell 13.8% in August to 5.6 million tonnes and 5.4% in 8M to 48 million tonnes.
Chermet Corporation, established in 1991, says on its website that it works with all companies that have assets of importance in the Russian ferrous metallurgy industry.
