Growth in Russia's GDP in 2024 likely to exceed last year's 3.6% - Putin
VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Growth in Russia's GDP in 2024 will most likely exceed growth of 3.6% in 2023, President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok.
"Russia's economy overall is certainly developing steadily," Putin said.
Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) data indicate that Russia's GDP grew 3.6% in 2023. GDP grew 4.6% in the first half of 2024.
"These are good indicators [the growth rates in the first half of the year] for our economy. I think that there should be a correction [toward a slowdown in annual growth rates] by the end of the year, but, overall, we can count on at least a repeat of last year, and most likely growth will be greater," Putin said.
