Kazakh first deputy PM, Gazprom CEO discuss current matters of cooperation at EEF

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar has met with PJSC Gazprom CEO and management board chairman Alexei Miller at the Eastern Economic Forum, Gazprom said.

The Russian company said that the parties "discussed current matters of cooperation in the gas industry" at the meeting.

Supplies of Russian natural gas to consumers in Uzbekistan via Kazakhstan began in October 2023. Supplies are organized in reverse mode along a specially designated route via the Central Asia-Center main gas pipeline system.

Gazprom and the Kazakh government signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement in November 2023. The document's goal is to develop cooperation in supplying, transporting, and processing natural gas, as well as conducting geological exploration and production of the natural resource.

Gazprom and the QazaqGaz oil company in June 2024 signed agreements to provide services to transport Russian gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan from 2025 to 2040. Gazprom and Kazakhstan's government signed an Action Plan on preparing the facilities of the Central Asia-Center-IV main gas pipeline to boost the volume of Russian gas transported to Uzbekistan.
