Putin, Tokayev discuss further development of bilateral cooperation, including on energy - Kremlin

MOSCOW. Aug 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev have spoken by phone, the Kremlin press service said on Monday.

"The discussion of current aspects of the further development of mutually advantageous bilateral cooperation, including on energy, continued," it said.

According to the Kazakh presidential press service, the sides discussed the need to fully implement top-level agreements in the trade, economic and energy fields, and agreed to conduct effective preparations for Putin's state visit to Astana.

The heads of state also exchanged views on relevant items on the global agenda.

"Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said he was grateful for the invitation to the BRICS summit in Kazan," the press service said.
