Ukraine agrees changes to border checkpoint treaty with Poland
MOSCOW. Aug 19 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian government has agreed amendments to a treaty with Poland on refurbishing crossing points and border road infrastructure along the two countries' border.
The Ukrainian government passed an executive order on August 16, approving a draft protocol between the Ukrainian and Polish governments to amend the September 9, 2015 intergovernmental treaty on issuing a loan on tied aid terms, Ukrainian media said, citing Ukraine's Reintegration Ministry.
In particular, the changes increase the term of payments on contracts with Polish enterprises funded by the Polish government loan from five to eight years and allow for amending contracts with Polish enterprises by raising their price if the amount of work has changed.
Amending the treaty will allow Ukraine to use the Polish loan and make expenses within budget programs, the ministry said. They include the Development of Border Road Infrastructure on the Ukrainian-Polish Border program and the Implementation of the Project for Developing Border Road Infrastructure and for Refurbishing Border Crossings program.
