Ukrainian farmers thresh 30.6 million tonnes of crops of 2024 harvest

MOSCOW. Aug 9 (Interfax) - Ukrainian farmers have threshed 30.640 million tonnes of new harvest crops while clearing early grains and grain legumes from fields on 7.741 million hectares, Ukrainian media outlets reported, citing the press service of the Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry on Friday.

Over 27.3 million tonnes of grains and 3.3 million tonnes of oilseeds were harvested, the press service said.

This includes 20.494 million tonnes of wheat harvested from 4.732 million hectares at a yield of 42.2 centners per hectare (c/ha), 5.2 million tonnes of barley from 1.367 million hectares at a yield of 38.1 c/ha, and 457,700 tonnes of peas from 207,600 hectares at a yield of 22.1 c/ha, it said.

The harvesting of oilseeds is continuing in Ukraine. In particular, over 3.318 million tonnes of rapeseed have already been harvested from 1,220 million hectares at a yield of 27.2 c/ha.

Farmers of the Odessa region who already cleared 1,072 million hectares are the leaders in grain harvesting. The Khmelnitsky region showed the top crop yield of 65.1 c/ha.
