Fuel demand in Russia being met; gasoline supplies up 5%, diesel 8% - ministry
MOSCOW. Aug 7 (Interfax) - Demand for motor fuel on the domestic market is being met, the Russian Energy Ministry said.
Gasoline shipments to the domestic market are now 5% higher than last year's level, and diesel fuel is up 8%. In addition, enough fuel has been stockpiled to supply the domestic market.
The government is taking timely measures to keep the market steady by increasing fuel sales on the exchange and improving the situation with the delivery of petroleum cargo by rail, the ministry said.
Also, the temporary ban on gasoline exports was renewed on August 1 and will further saturate the domestic market, it said.
