Ukrenergo working with Poland to increase electricity supplies to Ukraine

MOSCOW. Aug 5 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian national power grid operator Ukrenergo is working together with Poland to increase the technical capacity and volume of electricity supply to Ukraine in the upcoming fall and winter, Ukrenergo Board Chairman Vladimir Kudritsky said.

"We're continuing to work not only on repairs and enhancing physical protection, but also on looking for solutions to supply more electricity from Europe to Ukraine. In particular, we're working actively with Poland to increase the technical capacity and the amount of electricity supplies to Ukraine in the fall and winter. We're exploring options that should compensate for shortages," Ukrainian media quoted Kudritsky as saying on his social account.

Kudritsky said he would announce details later, when some agreements are reached.

Ukrenergo has not limited power consumption for almost a week, as there is enough electricity in the grid for all purposes, he said.
