Ukrenergo publishes power outage schedule in Ukraine for July 26
MOSCOW. July 26 (Interfax) - The regional distribution system operators in Ukraine will introduce power outrages for one category of consumers at a time for most of the 19 hours during which power supply is expected to be limited on Friday, Ukrainian media said, citing the Ukrenergo power grid operator.
"On July 26, [power supply] restrictions will be in effect from 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 p.m. to midnight for one category of consumers, and from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. for two categories," Ukrenergo said on social media.
It was also reported, citing the DTEK energy holding, that power outages would be in place almost throughout the day, except for the period between midnight and 5:00 a.m.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, for his part, said that the overall situation in Ukraine's energy system has improved, but repairs are continuing.
"As we promised the overall picture in the energy system has now improved. Repairs are ongoing. Recovery is in progress. Support programs for installing additional small-capacity generation facilities are in place. The results are visible," Ukrainian media quoted Shmygal as saying at an offsite government meeting on Thursday.
The Ukrenergo company specified information on Friday afternoon by saying that the extent of the application of the measures restricting supplies of electricity to consumers has decreased, and the involvement of two phases of shutdowns decreased by two hours.
One phase of shutdowns will be used before 3 p.m. and in the intervals between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and between 11 p.m. and 12 a.m., and two phases of shutdowns will be used from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m., the company said.
"The cause of the current decrease of the amount of restrictions is urgent supplies of surplus electricity from Poland's energy system," it said.
