Red Wings might lose CEO, be taken over by Rostec company - source
MOSCOW. July 23 (Interfax) - Red Wings CEO Yevgeny Solodilin might soon leave this position and management of the Russian airline, which is controlled by state corporation Rostec, might be taken over by a Rostec company, an airline industry source told Interfax.
"Solodilin's dismissal is virtually a done deal. Red Wings' board of directors is changing and in future there will be a management company," the source said.
Another informed source said they had also heard about Solodilin's dismissal. A third industry source said Red Wings' senior management, including the CEO, executive director and first deputy CEO, "continues to work on managing the airline."
The press services of Red Wings and Rostec did not comment on the issue.
Solodilin was appointed CEO of Red Wings in July 2022 to replace Yevgeny Klyucharev, who had held this position since 2014. He previously headed Ramport Aero, the operator of the Zhukovsky Airport in Moscow Region.
Solodilin saw his objective in the new position as "further developing Red Wings' ambitious project to create a model operator of Russian aircraft," the airline's press service reported him as saying. This referred to putting the Tu-204 back into operation and the future operation of the MC-21 airliner.
