Ukrainian seaports up cargo throughput 70% to 53 mln tonnes in H1

MOSCOW. July 1 (Interfax) - Ukrainian ports handled 52.7 million tonnes of cargo in H1 2024, up 70% from 31.3 million tonnes in the same period in 2023, Ukrainian media reported, citing preliminary data from the Ukrainian Seaports Administration.

About 64% or 33.5 million tonnes of the cargo was agricultural products.

Ports handled 6.7 million tonnes of cargo in June, up 30% year-on-year, of which 4.1 million tonnes were agricultural exports.

The administration said six Ukrainian seaports were currently operating.
