Interfax opens press center in Ryazan

The Interfax-Center news agency, incorporated in the Interfax Information Services Group, has opened a press center in Ryazan.

The press center in Ryazan is the 16th information outlet for the Interfax Group and the third for Interfax-Center, which was established in early 2004 to cover events in the Central Federal District. Earlier, the agency opened press centers in Yaroslavl and Voronezh.
"The Ryazan region boasts a significant economic potential, which should be embodied in specific investment projects in the near future," Ryazan region Governor Georgy Shpak said at the opening ceremony.
"I believe the establishment of a press center in Ryazan by such a credible news organization as Interfax will facilitate reaching this goal and the integration of our region in the common information area of this country," he said.
Interfax Regional Service President Alexei Gorshkov said: "The opening of a press center in Ryazan confirms Interfax Group‘s consistent policy towards expanding the informational coverage of Russia‘s regions. A more intensive flow of interesting and significant information from the Ryazan region will help attract more attention to the region from potential investors, government institutions and the media."

The development of the Interfax-Center agency is part of Interfax Group‘s program to energetically expand in Russia‘s regions. Interfax-Center‘s main office is in Moscow and its reporters work in nearly all regions of the Central Federal District, including the Yaroslavl, Ryazan, Lipetsk, Bryansk, Tambov, Kaluga, Tver and Belgorod regions.
The Group has also established major regional agencies in the Northwestern (Interfax-Northwest), Volga (Interfax-Volga), Southern (Interfax-South), Urals (Interfax-Urals) and Siberian (Interfax-Siberia) Federal Districts.
Each of these agencies runs its own newswire combining federal and local news for the mass media, government bodies, banks and corporations.
