Interfax announces opening of solo exhibition by young artist Darya Arbenina in St. Petersburg

Interfax Group is pleased to announce the opening of a solo exhibition in St. Petersburg by young local artist Darya Arbenina, who underwent a complicated heart operation at the age of seven, in 2007, as part of the cardiology program of the Life Line Fund with financial assistance from Interfax.

The operation went well and Darya, who is now 16, is completely healthy and seriously involved in fine arts. She has been attending the citys Palace of Youth Creativity since 2010 and Preparatory School No. 190 of the St. Petersburg Stieglitz Academy of Art and Design since 2014.

Arbeninas exhibition, called City Romance, is being held at the press center of Interfax-Northwests head office at 38 Sadovaya.

We came up with the idea to organize the exhibition on the eve of last New Year, when Interfax staff received a wonderful painting from Dasha as a gift. We were very impressed with the young artists talent and we really hope she has a big future, Interfax Group Chairman Mikhail Komissar said.

This year Interfax will have been working with the Life Line Fund for severely ill children for ten years. These years of working together have shown that the skill and ingenuity of Russian cardiologists can work miracles. Just recently some heart disease diagnoses sounded like a death sentence. Now we see that timely and high-quality medical care can bring people back to a fulfilling life, and Dasha Arbeninas case again confirms this fact, Komissar said.

There are many people in Russia who care and are prepared to help. With this exhibition, Interfax is supporting the main mission of the Life Line Fund, which is to inspire people to get involved in charitable projects, Komissar said.

For our fund, this project is an illustration of the fact that by giving you get far more in return. We are happy for Dashas success, and that she has managed to recover and is now full of creative energy. Art has traditionally been related to philanthropy. Creative spaces remain for us centers for holding the most successful charity events, which are extremely important for developing a culture of charity in Russia, Life Line Fund President Faina Zakharova said.

Interfax Group has been working with the Life Line Fund since 2006. In this time, Interfax has funded treatment for 23 children very various regions of Russia.
