DTEK plans to commission three new coal faces in Dec

MOSCOW. Sept 14 (Interfax) - DTEK Energy commissioned 23 new coal faces in January-November this year and plans to launch three more in December.

"Ukrainian miners have been working relentlessly throughout the year to ensure that thermal generation has enough fuel to operate at full capacity during peak consumption, especially in winter. For this purpose, new coal faces are being prepared and commissioned on a monthly basis. We will have commissioned 26 coal faces by the end of this year," Ukrainian media reported, quoting DTEK Energy CEO Ildar Saleyev as saying in an energy holding press release on Thursday.

The company's investment in Ukrainian coal mining is expected to double to UAH 7.4 billion rubles in 2023 from UAH 3.8 billion in 2022.

DTEK Energy is an integrated coal and power generating company, with 13.3 GW of thermal generating capacity as of January 2022. Its coal division mines and processes coal, and produces and services mining equipment.
