Russia's NWF rises by 216.43 bln rubles to 12.75 trln rubles in April

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - Russia's National Wealth Fund (NWF) totaled just under 12.751 trillion rubles as of May 1, equivalent to $138.93 billion, or 7.1% of forecast GDP for 2024, the Finance Ministry said.

The NWF was 12.534 trillion rubles on April 1, equivalent to $135.704 billion, or 7% of forecast GDP for 2024, so it rose by 216.433 billion rubles in April.

The NWF's liquid assets as of May 1 were equivalent to 5.172 trillion rubles, or $56.355 billion and 2.9% of forecast GDP for 2024. Liquid assets totaled 5.087 trillion, or $55.083 billion and 2.8% of GDP, on April 1; 5.045 trillion rubles, or $54.911 billion and 2.8% of GDP on March 1; 4.907 trillion rubles, or $54.958 billion and 2.7% of GDP, on February 1; and 5.012 trillion rubles, or $55.88 billion and 3.3% of GDP, on January 1.

NWF accounts also held 227.616 billion yuan, 334.367 tonnes of unallocated gold compared with 334.863 tonnes a month earlier, and 299.7 million rubles.

Gold was sold from the account as part of the management of the liquid portion, and the proceeds used to finance certain projects, the Finance Ministry said.

Some 171.7 million rubles were credited to the federal budget's single account to co-finance the pension accruals of persons who paid additional contributions to funded pensions in April.
