State Duma cancels May 8 meeting, may confirm nominee for PM on May 10 - source

MOSCOW. May 6 (Interfax) - State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has announced a decision to cancel the State Duma meeting scheduled for May 8, a source familiar with the situation told Interfax.

"The speaker has just said there will be no meeting on May 8, so the State Duma's confirmation of the prime minister is expected on May 10," the source said.

A number of State Duma members said earlier on Monday that a nominee for prime minister would meet with the State Duma factions on May 8.

Also on Monday, Liberal Democratic Party head Leonid Slutsky told reporters that the State Duma might consider the confirmation of a nominee for prime minister either on May 8 or May 10.
