Kremlin set to develop cooperation with China

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russia will continue to develop cooperation with China, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Reporters asked Peskov on Saturday to comment on the ongoing U.S. pressure on Beijing over its friendly relations with Moscow.

"There is absolutely nothing to comment on. China is a completely sovereign state, a powerful state that can defend and protect its interests. It is also our close partner. We will continue to develop our cooperation," Peskov said.

On Friday, Peskov said that preparations for Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to China were nearing completion.

Earlier, Putin said that his visit to China was planned for May.
