Ukrenergo continues to take emergency assistance from Europe

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - The dispatch center of the Ukrenergo Electricity Transmission System Operator continues to take emergency assistance from European power grids on April 26.

"A shortage of electricity persists in the power grid. Damaged power plants are unable to generate enough electricity to meet the demand in full," Ukrainian media cited Ukrenergo as saying on Friday.

As of 9:30 a.m. on April 26, consumption was 3.8% larger than at the same time the day before.

Power consumption restrictions are in effect throughout the day in the Kharkov region, where about 202,000 households were having a blackout on Friday morning. Power supply to industrial enterprises in the Krivoi Rog district of the Dnepropetrovsk region is also limited throughout the day.

According to Ukrenergo, electricity was imported practically all day long, except during night hours, on Friday from Romania, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Moldova in a total amount of 12,401 MW/h with the maximum supply to 1,547MW in certain hours. No exports are planned.

Technical capacity for electricity exports from Europe to Ukraine and Moldova has amounted to 1,700MW/h since December 1, 2023.

It was also reported that 388 populated localities in Ukraine were having a blackout for various reasons in the morning of April 26.
